Why host a FUNDRAISING event?

MATES relies on fundraising and donations as an essential part of funding. Every dollar counts toward MATES providing suicide prevention training and support to our industries . All funds raised goes back into the operation of MATES and the provision of programs and support services including the 24/7 Helpline .

How you can fundraise?

Whether it’s small and simple or bold and brave, there are plenty of ways to support MATES. All donations with contact info receive a tax-deductible receipt.

Start Fundraising

Event Idea/Challenge

Host a BBQ, chocolate drive, bake sale or wear funny socks for a gold coin donation

Walk/run challenge

Golf Day or Sports Events

Fundraising challenge or campaignAwareness day (e.g. Fly the Flag, Big Lap)

Take on something extraordinary—shave your head, walk 80kms, give up alcohol, or join a marathon.

Plan something big— trivia nights, corporate boxing, or family fun days.

Date and Venue

Choose a date that avoids public holidays or major industry shut downs

Secure your location (on-site, community hall, golf course,park, virtual, etc.)

Ensure it's accessible, safe, and suits your expected turnout

Request a speaker or field officer if needed

Order promotional materials if needed (banners, flyers, etc.)

Fundraising Platform

Create a Fundraising Page (If Applicable)

If you're raising money, set up a fundraising page using a platform like the free MATES GoFundraise platform. Search "Mates in' to see all the MATES groups and select the group you wish to fundraise for and click on ‘Start Fundraising’.

Application Form

'Main Event' Fundraiser and larger donations are best direct deposited so MATES can save on transaction fees. Please include your company name as your payment reference and complete the form below so MATES can provide a Deductible Gift Receipt.

'Quick and Simple' Fundraisers can produce a lot of coins and notes. If you find it easier to deposit this at a branch, please use the below account details for the MATES group of your choice and complete the below form so we can find the transaction and provide a Deductible Gift Receipt. Please also add a Deposit Reference of your company name when making the deposit.
