MATES SA 2025 Annual Fundraising Lunch

This year's MATES SA Annual Fundraising Lunch, held at the iconic Adelaide Oval on Friday, 2 May 2025, was our biggest yet — drawing over 480 attendees and showcasing the strength of our community's commitment to mental health and suicide prevention.

The event was officially opened by Premier Peter Malinauskas, who reaffirmed the State Government’s support for MATES SA and its critical role in creating safer, more supportive worksites across construction, mining, and energy industries. In a major announcement, the Premier revealed a significant funding boost to help MATES expand its reach and impact across the state.

Guests also heard a powerful keynote from Paralympian and former construction worker Jed Altschwager OAM PLY, who shared his personal journey of resilience following a workplace accident. Jed’s honest and inspiring message reminded all in the room of the importance of connection, purpose, and community.

With support from across the sector, the day raised essential funds for MATES SA’s life-saving work in delivering training, support, and connection to workers doing it tough.

We extend our deepest thanks to all our generous sponsors who made this day possible:
